Holsworthy Museum

Holsworthy Museum

Manor Car Park, North Road, Holsworthy. EX22 6DJ Tel: 01409 259 337

Situated at the heart of the ancient North Devon market town, Holsworthy Museum tells the story of the town’s long and rich past, as well as rekindling fond memories of yesteryear.

Housed in part of a building that is in itself a museum piece – a small manor house dating from the 17th century, which was used as a parsonage for over 200 years – the rooms are filled with memories of the past.

With hundreds of objects and curios, many unique and unusual, and some you may remember from days gone by, there’s something to interest everyone.

Come and spend an hour wandering through five rooms of nostalgia and local history and uncover some of our hidden treasures.

Open Easter until mid- December

Monday to Friday 11am to 1pm
Closed weekends and Bank Holidays

Other times by appointment

Admission is free but we rely heavily on your donations to keep the museum open

Ruby Country markets

Pay a visit to a Ruby Country market to sample the atmosphere and liberating atmosphere of a real rural tradition.

Along with the many shops and other places to buy local produce and arts and crafts, there are markets in Hatherleigh (every Tuesday) and Holsworthy (every Wednesday) when the two towns come alive with expectation.

Traditionally the markets have been meeting places for local farmers and their families and this remains the case.  Holsworthy still has thriving livestock markets as well as well as its regular general auctions
